We came to Andorra because it was cheap. Unfortunately half of Spain came too because of the public holiday, which resulted in double the price accommodation and no parking…except in park cades which extort you out of every last euro. In fact at one stage our car was paying a higher accommodation rate than us.

That said, we did manage to find a little piece of paradise 15 minutes outside the city.

Perfect.

In winter, covered in snow the place must be something else. We took a small hike up a mountain, did a little rock climbing and tried to stay most of the time out of the manic center. Andorra minus the capital and the drivers is worth a visit, whether to ski in winter or to hike in summer it does have its appeal and I’d like to come back some day, minus the car, maybe on a ski holiday.

AndorraArrrhh, the beauty that is Andorra. One of the smallest ‘countries ‘in the world, squeezed between France and Spain and flanked by huge mountains and awesome scenery. Paradise …….. Lost

More like a one town, one road mini state, with the capital Andorra La Vella little more than one vast traffic jam, a place to shop and pose in you big expensive cars. Andorran driver’s are arseholes, that drive on your bumper around hair raising bends, in one big rush for the queue to enter the capital which starts 2 km outside. You better off walking although that should come with a health warning. Posers pumping carbon monoxide into the street, pedestrians in one long chain smoke racing from one price cut temple of greed to the next, it’s hard not to catch cancer.
